Chania

Chania is located in the northwestern part of Crete and is the capital of the prefecture of Chania. It is the second largest city of the island and occupies an area of ​​11 square km. Big part of the city has been built over ancient Kydonia.

The city, in its current form, is separated by a Venetian wall in two parts, Old town (within the wall) and New Town. The eastern and western parts of the Venetian fortifications are rescued till nowadays while the south was destroyed early last century.

Chania is one of the most beautiful cities of Greece and the visitor can encounter samples from a variety of cultures that passed through there.
